I’ve always loved the power of language. For years, I've worked as an interpreter and traveled the world, helping executives and professionals communicate across cultures. But interpreting words wasn't enough - I wanted to help people translate health into their daily lives.

My turning point came when my mom - my best friend and mentor - passed away unexpectedly. Struggling to process my grief, I turned to food for comfort. For dinners, I’d order fried chicken and pizza, eating double portions while watching shows I didn’t even enjoy. Over time, my mind felt foggy and my body heavier. I may have looked okay on the outside, but inside, I felt horrible.

Then, one December in Chicago, a friend commented on my look, "Nice jacket. Is this your new style?" Her kindness stung. I was wearing a new, bigger-sized jacket because I couldn't fit into the old ones anymore. In that moment, my embarrassment turned into determination.

That determination drove me to focus on my health, starting with my weight. I learned about a gut-friendly, plant-forward approach that’s good for metabolic health, and many people in Taiwan have been benefiting from it. A friend with high cholesterol had also lowered her numbers through this method. Inspired by these stories and aware of my family’s type 2 diabetes history, I began my own gut health reset, focusing on metabolism.

Change was hard. Just weeks in, everything felt shaky again. At that time, I was managing a team while my interpreting work kept me traveling—one day in D.C., the next in Italy. I remember sitting in a hotel room, thinking, “So many client dinners and functions! How am I supposed to eat right for gut health and weight control?” For a moment, it felt like everything I’d started to build could slip away.

But then, something clicked. Years of working with executives had shown me that leadership isn’t about comfort—it’s about steering yourself when things get hard. I realized I needed to apply that same principle to my own health. So, I assessed my situation, planned ahead, and packed essentials that would help me reset my metabolism without feeling deprived, and leaned on a community that understands because they live under the same high-stress demands of work and life.

As I practiced leading my choices instead of reacting to my environment, I regained confidence and energy. I lost 17 pounds and 12% of my body fat, got perfect lab results, and have kept the weight off. Now, I feel in control of my gut-brain connection, and I can enjoy food without guilt or emotional swings.

Stephen Covey said people often climb the ladder of success only to realize it’s leaning against the wrong wall. For me, that wall is health. Because health isn’t separate from success. It’s the foundation that makes success possible. Without the right wall, the climb could be futile.

Today, I coach modern leaders to rewire their metabolism habits—without obsession or deprivation—so they can regain energy, sharpen focus, and boost confidence. This allows them to show up fully at work and feel more grounded and alive in their personal lives. I blend health communication, behavior science, and culture to guide how we work together. And the outcome is simple: high-pressure professionals finally make changes that stick, live more fulfilling lives, and age with strength and grace—just like the legacy my mom left me.
